Set Lists: save the sets you play every week
October 17, 2026 · 2 min read
Most bands have blocks of songs they play together night after night: the opener, the country set, the slow dance set, the encore. In SongChute these are Set Lists, saved once and attached to any gig.
Make a set list
Open Gigs → Set Lists in the left menu.
- Type a name in New set list name, such as "Opener", and click New set list.
- In the editor, search for songs and add them in order. Move them up or down, or remove them.
- Click Save.
Each set list shows as a card with its songs, so you can see your whole repertoire of sets at once.
Save a set from a gig
Already built a great set inside a gig? Click Save to Set Lists on that set in the gig editor and it's saved for next time.
Import set lists from a list or PDF
Choose Import a list or PDF on the Set Lists page. Pick Set Lists at the top, paste your list or upload a gig PDF, check the matches, and save. If the list has several sets, each one is saved on its own ("Saturday: Set 1", "Saturday: Set 2").
Attach a set list to a gig
On any set list card, pick a gig under Add to gig and click it. The set list is added to the end of the gig as a new set, with the same name. Pick New gig… to start a gig from that set straight away.
In the gig editor, the Add a set list… menu does the same from the other side.
Print it
Every set list card has a Print button for a clean, names-only page. More on printing in Part 9.
Ideas for set lists
- Opener and Closer: the same strong start and finish every night.
- By feel: "Slow dances", "Floor fillers", "Sing-alongs".
- By request: songs the regulars always ask for.
- Wedding blocks: first dance, parent dances, cake cutting.
Next, in Part 7, we get the whole band playing from the same gig with sharing and live follow.
